After earning a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Waterloo, I decided to combine my creative aspirations and craftsmanship to launch a sign business.
Founded in 1984 and incorporated in 1986 as André Probst Creative Design Inc., my company operated primarily as a full service sign shop in Kitchener. Serving mainly the southern Ontario market for its first three decades, Creative Design Inc. garnered many awards and international recognition for outstanding sign design, while providing effective signage solutions for small businesses and large corporate clients, banks, insurance companies, municipalities and national chains alike. Many remotely located signs require off-grid illumination. As a result, I developed a keen interest and gained valuable experience in solar off-grid systems.
Since relocating to Manitoulin Island in 2015, I have created new divisions reflecting the diversity of products and services the Company now offers: The Mad SIGNtist, providing a full spectrum of outdoor and indoor signage solutions, Manitoulin Off-Grid Systems, supplying and installing solar powered electrical systems for remote locations; and, most recently, Thunderbird PhotoArt, offering fine art and aerial photography - the creative product of my combined passions for flying and photography.
